What is a motor?

A motor is an electronic device with a rotating shaft that can be used to move components of the robot. This section will not cover how a motor works exactly, but that can be read about here.

Which motors are legal?

A full list of the approved motors for FRC is documented in the most recent version of the game manual, in the Robot Construction Rules section. This list changes most years as new motors are introduced, and old motors are phased out. This section will strive to include notes about all motors that are currently legal for FRC, and are relevant to our team.
